Laguna Beach, which premieres on the Roku channel tomorrow, April 10th.

Ahead of the premiere, I got to interview Liz Gately.

She is the creator and executive producer of Laguna Beach,

who also worked on a ton of really formative reality shows,

both at MTV and Beyond.

Because after she created Laguna Beach,

she also became head of development at MTV.

And Laguna Beach and Osbournes,

they kind of kicked off, you know,

that decade of reality to be on MTV that, I mean, if you're a millennial and you're around my age, early 30s, late 30s, those shows were probably so impactful on you.

I mean, Laguna Beach produced the hills and the city, oversaw development of Jersey Shore, 16 and pregnant,

teen mom, Muxieber Sweet 16, Runs House, Wild and Out, Ridiculousness, teen mom, awkward.

The list goes on. It really was an iconic era of MTV, and probably the last gasp of MTV being iconic.

Also during her time there, she oversaw for the record,

which was the seminal Britney Spears documentary from 2008 after her breakdown,

which people revisit all the time now.

Then she went on to Lifetime, and she worked on shows like Unreal,

like you before it went to Netflix, surviving R. Kelly. I mean, her list of projects

that she has worked on is really kind of one of one. And to get some time with her was just
