0:00.0	In January of 2014, Lacey Spears took her five-year-old son, Garnet, into the hospital, claiming
0:08.2	that he had had multiple seizures.
0:10.8	The doctors there admitted him and hooked him up to an EEG, which would monitor his brain
0:15.5	activity to determine if he was having a full seizure or not.
0:20.0	After days of observation, the boy never had an episode, so he was scheduled to be discharged
0:25.3	the following day.
0:27.0	But suddenly, Garnet became lethargic and began dry heaving.
0:31.4	When the staff ran blood tests, everything came back normal.
0:35.2	The boy's sodium level was on the higher end, but still in the normal range.
0:40.6	Over the next few hours, Garnet started to get better and the staff still planned on
0:44.9	discharging him.
0:46.6	Then it happened again, but this time, Garnet had looked like a full-blown seizure.
0:51.6	He stopped breathing and had to be intubated.
0:54.4	When they tested his blood again, his sodium levels had shot up from 144 to a deadly 182,
