Summary

Today, Keir Starmer set out his plan to stop small boats crossing the channel.

Joined in Dover by the newest Labour MP, Natalie Elphicke, Keir Starmer took questions on his plan for a new Border Security Command. Chris Mason tells Adam all about the plan and his interview with the Labour leader.

Hello, loads of things this year seem to be celebrating their 25th birthday.

Not me sadly, it was 44 this year and one of them is the BBC news theme tune that iconic

tune which simultaneously gives me goosebumps of nervousness and excitement and the composer at David Lowe has posted a video

and social media about his creative process that led to that iconic tune.

Hi exactly 25 years ago I created the BBC news theme I did it with this sound

This is the pip or the beep. We call it. It's got that sense of accuracy and reliability because it's a clock ticking one beat every second.

Then I added this, the baseline, gives a sense of strength and solidity and depth.

Then I added some more drums to enhance that, bass drum, kick, and some high hat.

Then we wanted a big sound for the headlines, I came up with this big drum, and we can use that on every headline.

And then I went some chords and the chords are tricky, they've got to be neutral.

So I started minor going to major is that sense of anxiety going to calmness

and then in the case of adding some top layers to that and coming out to a fade.
