Keir Stama has been grilled in the Commons on his decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as US ambassador, despite knowing his friendship with Geoffrey Epstein continued after the financier's conviction in 2008.

Stama pledged to release the vetting documents relating to Mandelson's

appointment, but argued that some details would have to be redacted on national security grounds.

This angered backbench MPs, who, along with the former deputy leader Angela Raina, forced the

PM into another humiliating climb down. Will anger in the party force Kirstama out?

Ethan Croft have been doing some great reporting on how MPs, Labour MPs, are feeling about

the scandal that's taking place over what we are learning about Mandelson's relationship with

Epstein and asking questions about what Stama did and didn't know about that relationship.

So could you explain a little bit about what happened in the Commons yesterday?

Because Stama said that he would release documents, but that wasn't enough for Labour MPs at

the time and they had to force him into a different position.
