Blimey. Well, what's we even say? What's a cluster F-U-C-K for the Labour Party?

I want to talk about what this all means for the Greens, the Left, Labour, future of the country, minor trivial details.

Really delighted to be joined by Aaron Bustard. He's a very little introduction, if I'm pretty honest, but Navarra, obviously.

I don't know I'm going with that.

Aaron, it's great to see you on a Saturday morning after, I would say, genuinely historic elections.

I think these are people, you know, people that are hyperbolic about politics, but these are actually

historic elections which I think will be remembered as such and a turning point in

history of our country in lots of ways. Do you think that's fair? Well, I agree with you on both

counts. I think people in political journalism have a tendency to hyperbole. You know, you and I included at times, although I think we're better than others.

But this is one of those moments where I couldn't agree more.

As sort of a general election, I can't think for a more important set of elections in my lifetime.

Last year's local elections were also really huge just because of the breakthrough that reform achieved.

But there's that story again this year, plus so much more.

So they're really, really big.

Just in terms of – we'll talk about some of the interesting details of the election.

The green pie had, I would say, a one of the most vicious, probably the most vicious smear campaign of any local elections in history.

In what local elections has there been a more aggressive smear campaign?

I'm including Jamie Corbyn's Labour Party, actually.

They really went for Zach Polanski, not least over anti-Semitism. And what they tried to do is strip his Jewish identity away. And because I was interested, when he became leader, I thought they're going to try and go for, they'll do the whole anti-Semitism blueprint thing. But I was like, how are they going to do that with him being, you know, how are they going to manage that? It's a bit trickier for them. And you can see they're basically treating him as though he isn't actually Jewish. You can see Trevor Phillips, you know, the way he spoke. So people like Melanie Phillips on TV saying his Jewish ancestry. What do you make of? Because actually, I did speak to, I asked, I did a shout out.

People said, if I'm honest, it did cut through in some places.

So actually, however well the Greens have done, they did lose votes over it.
