Let's get to my studio guest for full reaction to number 10 in Meltdown.

Good morning. Good to be with you.

Well, I mean, where to start? Do you believe the Prime Minister's protestations that the

first he heard of Manelson failing security vetting was Tuesday night of this week? I can't believe that.

It's inconceivable, isn't it? I mean, there's a number of newspapers that raised the issue that

had failed vetting back in September last year, the independent, I think.

Front page splash. Absolutely. The mail on Sunday, I think, raised it with 10 Downing Street.

The journalist who broke the independent story published yesterday is communications between

himself and the director of communications at Downing Street back in September. So there's

plenty of evidence that it was known that he had failed

the vetting process. But I think this is a bit of a red herring, really. The bigger issue is

that Stormer appointed Mandelson, knowing that it was intimate friends with Epstein, that he had

business interests with China, that he had business interests in relation to Russia,

that had been sacked previously in disgrace from two jobs in government.

So it doesn't matter whether he failed vetting or not.

Everybody knew this about Mandelson.

You didn't need a vetting process to know this.

That's exactly right.

So why did Stormer still appoint him? Knowing all that,

everybody knew it. Why did he still appoint him? You're absolutely right about that. The other issue is
