Good morning, everyone. I'm Kate Baldwin. It's Tuesday. April 21st. Here are the five things you need to know to start your day.

Number one, the inner circle. The turnover in President Trump's cabinet continues. This time it's the Labor Secretary.

The White House now announcing on Monday that Lori Chavez-Daremer will be stepping down for a job in the private sector.

The source, though, tells CNN the agency's inspector general has been investigating for

months more than one complaint about the secretary, like her having a sexual relationship

with a security staffer and other allegations of inappropriate behavior, like sending staff

to pick up alcohol in trying to use business trips

as excuses for personal travel. Chavez-Dareemar's lawyer says that she won't comment on

quote biased and absurd allegations. The New York Times previously reported that her husband had been

banned from the department's headquarters amid sexual assault allegations. A criminal investigation into that has been closed.

Then, there's Cash Patel, the FBI director.

Just yesterday, he filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against the Atlantic for some of its latest reporting,

which detailed Patel's quote, episodes of excessive drinking and unexplained absences from, well, what is obviously a critical job.

CNN has not independently confirmed these details in the Atlantic's reporting,

but the Atlantic says the lawsuit is meritless and stands by the reporting and its reporter,

who told CNN she spoke to more than two dozen people in reporting out these concerns.
