Crates of life-saving contraceptives already paid for with your American tax dollars, sitting in U.S. warehouses, not being shipped to women in crisis zones, not

reaching clinics in countries where maternal death rates are soaring. No, these contraceptives

that you've already paid for are scheduled to be burned, destroyed, while women around the

world are dying for lack of care. This is not a dystopian novel.

It's really happening.

The New York Times reported our government plans to burn.

Nearly $10 million worth of contraceptives purchased by USAID instead of delivering them to women and girls who desperately need them.

And at the same time, as we've talked about on this show,

60,000 metric tons of food aid, enough to feed millions, is stranded and rotting while hunger

is reaching record levels across the globe. Friends, these are not isolated mistakes. These are

a direct result of a coordinated rollback of global health funding.

These cuts and policy shifts in this administration have gutted sexual and reproductive health programs

and defunded, proven working aid infrastructure and leaving whole health systems in collapse.

In the Congo alone, a country already facing a high maternal mortality.

The withdrawal of our funding has collapsed the public health system, and local governments can't cover the gap.

Women are dying from preventable causes, and unsafe abortions are on the rise, and clinics are running out of even most basic supplies.
