In many countries around the world, March is a Women's History Month.

To mark the occasion, the Dual-Lingo French podcast is revisiting some of our favorite

stories from women trailblazers across the Francophone world.

Today, we'll feature an episode from September 2021 about Matina Razafimaifa, a university

student who grew up on the fourth largest island in the world, Madagascar.

Matina knew that in Madagascar, education is widely inaccessible, and she felt lucky

to have the chance to go to college.

But she couldn't shake off her frustration about the fact that so many kids in her country

didn't have the same opportunities.

So in 19, she took action.

She was November 2017, and 19-year-old Matina Razafimaifa was in her second year of university

in Paris.

Though she was studying in France, Matina is actually Malagasy or Malgache, which is

what people from the island of Madagascar are called.

And all her life, Matina had always loved school.

But Matina had a problem.

She was also a budding entrepreneur, and she had her own personal business project, creating

the first ever online coding school in Madagascar.
