And this is a moment where like housing affordability is just the issue that crosses the aisle in terms of, you know, political spectrum, class, race, like everybody is feeling crunched.

And it's, it's very conspicuous that the elected leaders in our city have done really nothing to support it.

LA organizer, Ann Orchiee about the latest in their organizing efforts

and a survey they just took about the popularity or lack thereof of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

It's a deep conversation. We also touch on parallels with Brazil and their recent election

of proto-fascist Bolsonaro and what that election portends for

the Olympics and for the United States. I also have some choice words about solidarity and

difficult times and an unprecedented for Just Stand Up awards headed up by the students and players

and community surrounding the University of Maryland.

I'm doing well. I'm doing well. Thanks for joining us at this early hour on the left

coast. Appreciate it very much. My pleasure. Always happy to get up early and talk no Olympics.

Well, let's jump right in then. First and foremost, No Olympics, LA released these survey results

about the popularity or lack thereof of

the games. Can you share with our audience what you found out? Yeah, absolutely. So I think

in terms of, you know, top line findings, as they say in the biz, you know we found that you know contrary to what the the bid committee

and mayor and city council and various other uh Olympic boosters have been you know claiming as fact

for a long time uh there really is not widespread support or a popular mandate for hosting

the games in LA.

And specifically, we found we surveyed a thousand people across the state of California.
