All indications coming in to the control center at this time indicate we are goal.

One minute, 25 seconds in counting.

Nate sits at the NASA work station in Huntsville, Alabama.

11. 10. 9. Ignition sequence starts.

He's there along with rows of other white-shirted engineers.

Two, one, zero. All engine running.

Lift-off. We have a liftoff.

32 minutes past the hour.

Lift-off on Apollo 11.

As the Saturn 5 rocket rises into the atmosphere, plumes of smoke stretch from miles. He knows the gas distributor he designed is key to making the second stage separation work.
