You better go to sleep, or Lawyrona will come into your room and take you away.

Generations of Mexican children have spent their entire childhood afraid of Lawyrona, the wailing woman.

The cursed spirit of a young woman trapped

here on earth for her misdeeds, spending her nights tormenting children.

She will come for you if you misbehave, or if you linger too long by the river.

So be good little boys and girls if you don't want to meet.
