Growing up in the north of France near Belgium,

Virginie Dorne loved eating cheese.

But she hated going to buy it at the Frommagerie, the cheese shop.

Souvent, with my mother, I went to buy the Frommagerie.

But I never wanted to go into the Frommagerie.

She was cold and there was a bad smell.

So, when I was little, I said, if I become a salesman one day,

I would never be a salesman of Frommagerie.

As an adult, Virginie was certain she'd never work in retail.

She wanted to be a university professor and a mother.

In 2003, at the age of 28, she was on track to do both.

She was pursuing a PhD in literature

and was engaged to a political science graduate named Jean-François Du Bois.

We went to the museum together.

We talked about politics, religions.

We watched the work of art.

We watched ourselves.

We stayed three hours in the museum of Dorce.

When we left, we held our hands.

We fell in love like that.

Virginie was content with her vision for the future

and the life she was building with Jean-François.
