Kyle Draper, do you believe, sir, that this defense, you believe that it's just, Steph Curry,

it was the defense that made him shoot that lower percentage last night?

Well, Fred, you obviously know it's never all black and white or that cut and dry,

but I will say historically, if you look

at the last few years, the Celtics have probably done a better job than anybody of guarding

Steph Curry. And I think, you know, before I used to think all just because we had Avery Bradley,

but now, to me, it seems like the scheme also. I feel like the Celtics and Brad Stevens,

they get up in Curry's airspace more than any other team. And we saw Terry Rozier to be a big part of that last night. Now, Steph missed some open shots. I thought he rushed some shots. But that's because of the defense. I mean, the defense was swarming, and so he didn't get much daylight. So when he did get a little bit of daylight, he felt like he had to get it up. But I didn't think Steph was moving that well yesterday. He's coming off that thigh contusion. I don't think he was 100%. Three or 14 shooting or whatever he was. Give the Celtics credit. But like Brad Stevens said afterward, that's not going to happen that often. So you've got to take advantage in the Celtics did last night.

All right.

Let's talk about the curious case of Marcus Smart because he's obviously important to this team's success.

Statistically, he was a plus 15 last night.

And everything for this entire season, I read that they score eight more points per 100 possessions than they do when he's not on the floor.

And that's important.

But my God, is he infuriating to watch?

Horrible shots.

He might be one of the worst shooting...

In all honesty, and I'll ask you this guy, is he one of the worst shooting guards that you've ever seen?

Worst scoring guards in that it's not even jump shots. He can't make layups. I think he's shooting 36% on layups this year, which I don't even know how you can do that. But can you explain to me how he's so valuable when he's on the court, yet so awful offensively? Well, that's a great question. I mean, because, you know, I said the other day on a post game show, I'm going to just have to start ignoring the box score when it comes to Marcus Smart. Seriously, because when you look at the box score, you see three of 11, two of 10 or something like that. But then, like you said last night, you know, he was a plus. And so I'm going to start

ignoring the box where I don't know how he's doing it. I think defensively, obviously, when he's on the floor, it's probably better for the Celtics. But you know what he does a great job of guys? And we've got to start giving him credit for this. He's running a team when he gets in there. He's the team leader in the assist.

And so I think he's making plays for other people.

You know, he's not just, you know, he's much better at

driving the ball now, searching for his lanes, searching for the passes. And so I don't know how
