Good evening.

We begin tonight with the war and what the Russians now call liberation and what was a beautiful

city called Mariopol.

Russia says they have liberated, Mariopol.

This is what their liberation looks like.

After more than 70 days of missiles and mortars, artillery and tanks targeting hospitals

and shelters, cutting off food and medicine from being sent in and stopping women and children

from getting out, Russia has destroyed Mariopol.

They destroyed it in their twisted or well-earned logic in order to save it, they say.

It may be difficult to see, but if you look at the top of this hospital in Mariopol,

Ukraine you'll see the unmistakable blue and red Russian flag.

It is now in Russian control.

This is a new image that just came to us today.

These are also new images from Mariopol Soviet air monuments built when Ukraine was a territory

of the Soviet Union now being restored.

Yesterday we saw these pictures which Russian citizens are being shown of metal ceremonies

for Russian troops and already there are new Russian language road signs.

Russia which hasn't been able to move quickly on the ground in Ukraine is moving quickly

to put their stamp on the city they have destroyed.

As you probably know by now on Monday in Russia they can marimory their victory over the

Nazis in World War II.

A campaign they've tried to link to their fight in Ukraine.
