Well, we've got our first report card on AI drive-thrus in the fast food industry.

They've used it now a little bit, and maybe you're seeing some traces of it.

Some of it's kind of interesting.

In fact, I pull into a drive-thru, and there's this pleasant voice.

Hello, and welcome to McDonald's and all

a sudden there's somebody goes now take your order it's a recording at first yes and then

it's the real person brings me in with this lovely genteel voice it's like what's going what going? What do you want? What do you want? So right away, I'm going, okay, well, score one AI, zero for the human.

But when you break it all down, AI is not all that yet.

They have found that AI at fast-through drive-thrus is providing faster service, improved efficiency,

and customer satisfaction.

But 22% of the time, the AI voice ordering system glitches.

Boom.

And you've got to have an employee in there to help.

That's basically one out of every five or every four orders. You're going to

have an issue. And without a human there, I mean, imagine if those are the odds. And you see four

cars in the drive-thru, one of you's going to have a problem with your order. There's going to be

a lot of unhappy people. Those are not very good numbers. And does the robot really understand

what extra pickles mean?

That's where it really started to become a problem.

When people tried to specialize their orders, the AI was just freaking out.

There's all kinds of order inaccuracies.
