KVJ cuts. It's not often that you get the greatest compliment that you've

likely ever received and yet the worst insult all in the same article. It's amazing

but that's exactly what happened today when I was

checking the pages of Radio Inc magazine. Oh radio Inc that's like a powerful

radio magazine yes and oddly enough I thought that they were at least one time stationed out of West Palm Beach.

All right well so they're familiar they were here. The article is about this legendary radio personality and programmer Scott Shannon, who does stay a lot of times locally in South Florida.

He is such an influential guy on the industry. It's amazing what he has done.

A significant radio station in New York City called Z100 is what he founded in 1983 took them from

worse to first place started the Z morning Zoo a morning show format that

really everybody's copied including us and so we are what we are because of this

guy Scott Shannon and I went and did my internship at Z100 in New York City and it's

because I wanted to be at the top of the mountain.

The top of the Empire State Building, which is where their signal emanates from.

I wanted to be in it and it's all because of this guy Scott Chan.

I can't tell you how much I look up to this guy. He is just

he's a walking Zeus of radio. He's the God. I told you like everything. I flipped

out in a restaurant like 15 years ago when I saw him the Cafe shardinay he was just in there eating I

lost my cool and I went over there and he could not have been nicer talked to

stopped his dinner got up and went and talked to me in like another area for like 15 minutes.

Couldn't believe it and when you told me I'm like, why is it you?

I'm the one who on his own dime went to New York City got mugged as J Bird says

just to be in the presence of what Scott Shannon created at Z100.
