my wife and I are at odds about her aging father. He's expressed that he doesn't want to go to an

assisted living facility and I've grown quite attached to him wanting to take care for him at home. I truly believe he's still capable

of living independently with just a bit of extra help. However, my wife thinks it's best for him

to move into a facility, possibly because she wants more freedom to travel and go on vacations.

It's an emotional struggle and I want to honor his

wishes. So how do we navigate this? That's kind of weird that it's her father and he's the one

that's fighting to keep him at home and she's the one that's like, nah, put him in a home.

It's going to be better off for him. I would never put someone in a home where they want ready to

go. Especially when you have him and he's ready to take care of your dad.
