So are you allowed to record police on your phone in the state of Florida?

I've seen that happening before and it is kind of an interesting, I guess, answer.

I've seen too where somebody's recording the police and the police yell at them and tell

them to put their phone away and they can't record them. Yes. If you are not interfering with what's

going on and you're on the side out in a public street, you are allowed to film the police.

Here's what the law is about that because that's, I think, where the issue is.

Now, filming is one thing, sometimes because the people are trying to get great video,

is they're getting really close, almost in the course of an arrest.

The video I just saw this last week was that.

They were in there as they're trying to arrest somebody that is struggling, and they're trying to record a video. They're like, you better get out of here. You're going to be, what are you going to do?

You can't arrest me. And they're like, just put the phone away, get out of here. And they're like,

I have rights. And it's like they're, now they're another problem. They're already dealing with somebody and then they've got somebody that's filming them that's in their face. That's why you'll hear him on the body cam say you can film but you have to go over there

and get away from what's going on. You can't interfere with the case because then you'll get arrested

for interfering. What if you are the person getting arrested? You're not allowed to film?

I mean, you've got to be pretty quick, huh? What if you're the person that, like, they pull over, say, and they're talking to you and you're in your car and you're filming the police officer?

That's what I've seen.

And then they make them turn it off.

And the person's like, I'm not turning it off.

I don't think they can make you turn it off until something gets, you know, if there's a crime involved and they're investigating it and you're in that, now that might be different, but if they still haven't articulated why they have a, the crime going on, because sometimes someone gets pulled over and they don't know right away why they're getting pulled over.

That's me every time.
