She said, I married into a family that has a recognizable last name here in South Florida.

Now, I won't lie, the name does open doors for me, and for 10 years I've used it in my career,

and I've built a brand around it.

My husband then had an affair and is leaving me for the woman he cheated on me with.

As we were discussing terms of the divorce, the first thing in his demands is that I drop his

last name and return to using my maiden name. Apparently it is making his new girlfriend

uncomfortable. He's offered an incentive in the agreement, but it's not even close to enough to cover what I will lose to rebuild my brand under another name.

He's saying that he's going to sue me and drain me of all the money and legal fees.

Is he bluffing?

What is my right to his last name?

And am I a jerk if I don't change it?

I don't think he can make you change it.

They give you the woman the option because when I got divorced from Magnolia's dad,

because it's her last name, I chose to keep it.

And it was a way easier last name to say than my maiden name.
