Californians are still working to recover from last month's devastating wildfires.

The Eaton Fire hit the Los Angeles area hard, particularly Altadena.

That's where KUOW's Angela King grew up and where she returned,

Governor Bob Ferguson will unveil his budget proposal this morning.

Washington State is facing a budget shortfall of up to $12 billion over the next several years. The governor has already

said he wants to reduce state spending by 6%, and he's directed state agencies to come up with

ways to do that. The number of flu deaths are continuing to rise in Washington state. So far this season,

177 people have died from influenza.

That's already more than last year's total.

And fewer people in Washington are getting their flu vaccine.

The Seattle Times reports, Washington is at its lowest flu vaccination rate in four years.

And it's a big night for local sports fans.
