I just finished an interview with the president of Kansas State University.

We're putting this podcast together probably in two segments because he was the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

during 9-11, and it is an amazing story that he's going to tell that you do not want to miss.

But newsworthy today, I asked the president at Kansas State a question today, if, who's, and he's,

by the way, very much for playing

football and told us today that everybody in the Big 12 was for playing football. And I asked him

if one of the presidents from the Big Ten that voted no to play football called him and said,

you voted yes. I voted no. Did I make a mistake? Can you give me a reason why you think it's

okay to play football? Why not? So if we can keep them safe, why not play? And what the number

of fans that will have attending games, if we have any attending games this year, will be

minuscule compared to that other year. So it's not, it's not

about that kind of income. We do have contracts with the ESPN and Fox, and, you know, if we

can, we'd like to fulfill those contracts. The players want to play. The players want to play.

And I would say if you decide not to have football

and you're not keeping your players busy practicing and so forth,

they're in bigger danger going out and doing the sort of things they do

if they didn't have football to prepare for,

they'd be a bigger danger of getting the virus than having, you know, getting sick.

So I think it's the safest place for our players, frankly.

But it's really about them and keeping the program moving forward.

And it's going to be, you know, we don't know how the season is going to wind up.
