Summary

In this episode of Narcissist Apocalypse, Brandon talks with Krystal about being raised by an abusive mother who demonized her very existence. Krystal, barely knowing her father, was unfairly compared to him. Her mother used this as an excuse to take out her own traumas on Krystal. During this time, Krystal was parentified, forced to care for her mother’s feelings. Meanwhile, Krystal’s own feelings and life were neglected and dismissed. 1:28.8	Crystal's story. And this is a story that focuses on how the child, Crystal, becomes the target
1:35.5	of her mother and the ammunition being used is the hurt that her mom felt after her dad left
1:42.4	the picture. And he was barely in the picture to begin with.
1:46.0	But for the rest of Crystal's life, Crystal was going to be the reflection of this man to her mom.
1:51.9	And there was nothing Crystal could do to stop her mom from acting this way.
1:55.7	And it's a sad story, but it's also interesting when you're looking at it from a relational trauma, intergenerational trauma point of view, you know, everything that has occurred, and all these
2:05.6	little mechanizations that go into who makes someone and what makes trauma and that person
2:11.8	taking out their trauma on someone else. And sadly, it was Crystal who was a child at this time and was the victim of all of this.
