Leaving is the most dangerous time.

Lethality indicators include: escalating threats, weapons access, stalking, prior strangulation, extreme possessiveness, separation intent, financial desperation.
Narcissistic collapse produces desperation and rage—not acceptance. When control is threatened, some escalate to the unthinkable.
