In March of 2022, a Utah mother of three called 911 from her home near Park City.

Her husband, 39-year-old Eric Richens, was unresponsive.

She said she had brought him a drink to celebrate the closing of a house. By morning, he was dead.

At first, it looked like tragedy. Then came the autopsy. Eric had five times the lethal amount of fentanyl in his system.

A year later, his widow, Corey Richens, self-published a children's book about coping with grief,

promoting it on local TV.

But detectives were quietly tracing text messages, financial disputes, and an alleged drug purchase from an acquaintance.

Prosecutors say Corey tried to poison Eric once before.

Now she stands charged with aggravated murder and other felonies.
