We have two major updates this week.

The first is the sentencing of Corey Richens in Utah,

and the second is a huge reversal

in the Alex Murdoch case in South Carolina.

Corey Richens was sentenced Wednesday in Park City

to life in prison without the possibility of parole

for murdering her husband, Eric.

Judge Richard Mrazik told the courtroom that a person convicted of what she was convicted of

is simply too dangerous to ever be free. She also received consecutive sentences for attempted

murder, two counts of falsifying insurance claims, and one count of forgery.

The attempted murder charge was for Valentine's Day, 2022, weeks before Eric's death, when she put fentanyl in his favorite sandwich.

He survived that one by treating himself with Benadryl and an EpiPen.

On March 3rd, she spiked his cocktail with five times the lethal dose of fentanyl bought from a

housekeeper. He was 39. They were supposed to be celebrating the closing of a real estate deal she had just made.

Diabolical. Wednesday's hearing fell on what would have been Eric's 44th birthday. His sister spoke and said that they had

begged him to leave Corey before he was killed. Three social workers read statements from the couple's

three sons who were nine, seven, and five when their father died. The oldest, now 13, told the court

he is afraid that if his mother ever got out, she would come after him and his brothers. Oh my god,

that just sent chills up and down my body. That is so horrifying. Corey spoke to. She maintained

her innocence, called the allegations completely wrong, and an absolute lie, and then addressed
