The United States. I'm Viti Pawlitan. The subject of my investigation is the murder of a father of three named Eric Richens.

Just before he died, he drank a Moscow mule that prosecutors say was laced

with poison here's the story or was it a little bit Eric and Corey Richens seemed to be living the perfect

little life the attractive young couple had three young boys and were doing very well financially living in Utah.

They traveled, had a beautiful home, and spent a lot of family time with their boys.

But beneath the exterior, something else was happening.

Family members say Eric suspected his wife of trying to kill him giving him food and drinks laced with poison

Eric got so suspicious that he changed his life insurance and his will to give his money to his sister

who he trusted to take care of the kids. Now prosecutors say Eric was right.

He died in March of 2022, a victim of fentanyl poisoning.

Then after his death, Corey wrote a book for her children to help them deal with the loss of their father.

And just after the release of that book, Corey was arrested and charged with the murder of Eric.

This is a case that you look at, there's going to be some questions.

Questions about the motive on why Corey Richens would allegedly do this.

And then questions about how she allegedly did this.

This is not a clear-cut case.

Obviously, prosecutors believe they have the evidence to prove it.
