Instead of jumping directly into another Godzilla movie after Godzilla 2014 the inexplicable decision was made to make a King Kong prequel set during the events of the Vietnam War. Completely revamping the character in a new narrative absolutely pays off in what is one of the more more fun, gory and entertaining Monsterverse movies that brings together Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, Sam Jackson and more.
