Day number three on the venturist just off Kodiak Island in Alaska and

this is going to be an awesome long episode because we've got so much to talk about.

And hopefully we can actually bring just a fraction of the excitement that actually went down today.

Very, very cool day.

One of the most productive and exciting and growing days of hunting I've had in Alaska.

Sitting here primarily with Colton, with Austin Brown, with Andrew, and

Gary, there were some other players in the day but all of us pretty well got

our but in terms of effort but Alaska is one of those, oh how should we put it, she's a demanding

mistress.

She's a thick old lady.

But when you treat her right, she'll treat you right.

So, Travis and the crew here delivered us about dawn to a spot that they tell us is one of their favorites and they expected good things from.

And what we all liked was it didn't look too

too aggressive terrain.

Alaska can be misleading too.

It actually wasn't bad terrain but the trouble with that is that you get sucked in deeper and deeper sometimes.

It's cold, not horribly cold. Quite a lot of snow maybe depending on drifts like three to

ten inches down on the shore but once you get up higher it got deeper and the

drifts got deeper and we were at thigh deep encrusted snow crossing some ravines and so forth.

But anyway we all started up this hill together we're seeing deer right on the face of this real steep hill and you kind of

climber your way up a cut in the hill a couple hundred feet and start

topping out on this great big bench and there were deer everywhere.
