Summary

On today's episode, I discussed supplementing with probiotics and whether it is worth your money. Probiotics' popularity is fueled mainly by surging scientific and public interest in the human microbiome. According to the latest estimate, the human gastrointestinal system contains about 39 trillion bacteria, most of which are in the large intestine. In the past 15 years, researchers have established that many of these microbes are essential for health. Collectively, they crowd out harmful microbial invaders, break down fibrous foods into more digestible components and produce vitamins such as K and B12. The controversy stems from whether these small amounts of probiotics in supplement pills actually do anything or are they just a tiny drop in the bucket. I explore the pros and cons of spending money taking probiotics and help give you more information on if they are right for you.

My humble opinion is that the vast majority of you guys probably don't need

probiotics.

You need to adjust your lifestyle factors and assess your gut health from a more broad

spectrum than just trying to put a supplement because it actually could make things

worse.

I also am linking a study in the show notes for you guys to check out.

This could help with this.

This could help with this this could
