How it doesn't start from the criticism the world outside or validation. It starts with you. All right. So I'm going to start this off with a story. Something that happened to me. I guess it was my epiphany or learning moment a handful of years ago now.

But I got an email asking me to write a speech.

Right? This person was doing a keynote and needed someone to write his presentation.

And so he was giving me a little information about himself.

Basically, he said, you know, entrepreneur, Hollywood producer,

and I'm looking at him.

I'm like, okay, he's done some amazing things.

You know, 100%.

I'm excited about the project.

I email him back.

I see, yeah, let's do it.

He flies in, and we meet at Margaritaville in Hollywood.

And he's sitting in the lobby and, you know, I join him. We talk for a little while. He tells me

more about what he does, what he's done. Again, super impressive guy. And after, you know, he fills me in a little bit, he goes, all right, Eddie, what's the, the price?

What's the cost?

And long story short, you know, I basically said, Rod, I don't really care, man.

Like, I just, I was so excited to, you know, improve the quality of the people that I'm working with and surrounding myself with that, like, the cost doesn't really matter.

And he looked at me and he says, Eddie, you have to be a salesman.

You have to.

And he pulled out a checkbook and you know not only more than I expected but

way more than I've ever gotten right and he writes it out and he hands it over to me and he
