Welcome to today's encouragement from our daily bread. I'm Wyn Collier, and I'm reading today a piece

0:11.9

that I wrote called Knowing the Shepherd's Voice. When I was a boy living on a ranch in Tennessee,

0:19.7

I spent glorious afternoons roaming with my best friend.

0:24.0

We'd hike into the woods, ride ponies, visit the rodeo arena, and venture into the barn to watch the cowboys work the horses.

0:34.2

But whenever I heard my dad's whistle,

1:28.4

We're told in verse four that his sheep follow the shepherd because they know his voice.

1:35.8

May we be careful as we listen for Jesus' voice and avoid foolishly dismissing it, for the

1:42.9

fundamental truth remains.

1:45.3

The shepherd speaks clearly, and his sheep hear his voice.

1:51.3

Perhaps through a verse of scripture, the words of a believing friend, or the nudge of the

1:57.0

spirit.

1:58.5

Jesus speaks, and we do here.

2:07.8

Today's our daily bread devotional scripture reading is from John chapter 10,
