Welcome to For Your Amusement, a theme park podcast that aims to exhaustively evaluate the world's most popular theme park attractions to determine if they are world-class.

I'm Ryan Bergara. I'm Barry Marin. And for today's featured attraction, we don't actually cover an attraction.

0:18.4

We cover a whole theme park. And that's right. It's

Nats Scary Farm. We're going to take a peek behind the curtain of Nats Scary Farm, or as I like to call it, the original title, Nott's Halloween Haunt. And that's, of course, only in Buena Park, California. There is no other Halloween haunt. There's no other Nott's Scary Farm anywhere in the world. And joining us today in the Tiki Room is none other than one of the lead maze designers,

Gus Kruger. Thank you so much for joining us in the world. And joining us today in the Tiki Room is none other than one of the lead maze designers, Gus Kruger. right in. Gus,

1:11.5

how long have we known each other now? Oh, man. It was first year of Dark entities, so about six

years now. Yeah, it feels... 2018 was the first year of that.

1:20.1

2018 was the first year of Dark entities? Yeah. My God. If you didn't know, Gus,

1:24.5

Gus has designed some real bangers over the years. It's kind of crazy because I'm such a haunt head that I view mazes as like films, essentially. So like I'm like sitting next to like one of the greatest directors in the world, in my opinion. Dark Edities was like an amazing maze. It was kind of like in the alien theme. It would have been great actually this year with Romulus coming out. It would have been pretty fun, but you know, it's just, uh, these things get old, man, got to come up with something new. I guess that there's normally we would, at this point of the show, we would say, why are we having somebody on the show and why they chose this topic to talk about, but obviously, since you're here, we're going to get some amazing behind The Scene's Insight on this year's event, but also the events of yesterworld.

2:01.0

And I'm really stoked. since you're here, we're going to get some amazing behind-the-scenes insight on this year's event,

but also the events of yesterworld.

2:05.7

And I'm really stoked to talk about it.

2:07.2

You're going to be sitting here for four hours.

2:09.7

I hope you don't have anything like, I'm just kidding.

2:13.8

I hope you don't have like a really important event to prep for or anything. I'll have to say to my daughters, I'm sorry I won't be able to pick you up today.

2:16.8

That's right. This is actually being filmed in August, late August. So we are mere weeks away from the events opening. When you guys are listening to this, this is, it's going to be October 8th. You guys will be, hopefully you have gone or you're thinking about going. And on that note, we're going to try and keep the spoilers light here for this year's event. We're going to give you some tidbits, but this is going to be more of a preview of this

2:39.1

year's event as opposed to a full-on review. We will be reviewing it eventually over on

FYAPod.com as part of our bonus podcast. But for now, it's going to be a hopefully mostly
