My name is Mike Munter, as ever, I am your host.

In this podcast, usually we explore and dissect the history and the evolution of the horror

genre by looking at a particular sub-jummer as one series at a time.

Just before Christmas, we finished our eighth series on the evolution of the Vampire movie,

so we're in a little hiatus before our ninth series starts in a couple of months on the

evolution of home invasion movies.

But while we're in this little gap, we thought we'd bring you a bonus episode to discuss

the latest horror movie from writer-director Em Knight, Shyamalan, this is of course

knock at the cabin based on the book by Paul Tremblay, the cabin at the end of the world.

It came out in cinemas this weekend to a fairly positive response so far, which is nice

because you never quite know what you're going to get with Shyamalan.

So the way that this episode is going to work is me and my guest are going to discuss

our initial thoughts on the film and on Em Knight's Shyamalan generally in the first half

of the conversation and that will be spoiler free, then we will give you a spoiler warning

before we get into a final spoiler section at the end of the episode.
