hello everybody and welcome to the mike francesa podcast part of the bett rivers network and we

come to you tonight after the nix uh i guess you want to call it a statement game and it was

very very much that from start to finish for the nix is they take a commanding three two lead

and then try to wrap this up in six rather than let it come back and go seven games.

But from start to finish, even without the final flourish, this was a nicknight in every way.

You went in the game and you knew a couple of things. You knew that

towns would try and early make his presence felt especially going to the basket that they would play

a good brand of defense that they would get tough on the boards and the nicks,

the last two games have played a different on the boards. And the Knicks, the last two games,

have played a different brand of basketball.

And their defense has been very good.

They shot the ball very well.

They shot 50% for the first half.

They shot 50% for the game.

They really did a,

overall a tremendous job on the backboards. They did a tremendous job on,

uh, McCollum, who they shut down completely. You know, really they shut them all down last night. Uh, McCollum

clearly hurt them and made big shots and gave Atlanta a big push early to win a couple of tight games.

But Johnson's been the key for them.

And even though he wound up scoring some points, he was tentative.

And the Knicks were in command of this one really every step of the way.
