I will preface this by saying that if you take the temperature of the room by the overnight

radio caller, you may be doing yourself a disservice.

However, when I listen to these guys, I could tell who is a crazy person, who's not.

And driving in this morning, I heard multiple, reasonable older Knicks fans.

I'm talking three of them.

Older Knicks fans who have claimed to have been there when they watch the championships like you,

had been alive, seen the championship Knicks years.

That said how important winning this NBA Cup is to them and the franchise.

And I can't understand it.

Now, I get the fact that if you want to translate, well, this, you know, it means something, and then, you know, they could win this, and then you've had the sense of winning, and then maybe it gives you a little bit of an appetite for the NBA championship. Well, I mean, okay, I could understand 20% of that, but they already have an appetite for the NBA championship.

And the reason why I dismissed the NBA Cup is why it was born.

It was born because these guys weren't trying hard enough in the regular season.

So if something just sprouts out of the ground because these guys don't care enough

and they have to dangle more money in front of them to try,

then that thing is not a legitimate thing.

It's just not.

When they're playing for a championship in the playoffs and those guys are playing hard,

that means something to them.

They're just doing this now because it's extra money.

And I understand that some of the guys who don't make a lot of money,

it's like, okay, you know, those guys can get a little bit more.

And the staff, they get a little bit more and the star players, you know, feel good about that.
