| 0:00.0 | Out of the three of you, who do you think spends the most time in the kitchen? |
| 0:05.7 | I know you're probably thinking it's Brooke and it's not because she's a woman. |
| 0:10.2 | No, she honestly is a great cook. |
| 0:12.4 | It's because the other two are, you know, younger Gen Z types and, you know, they have lives. |
| 0:18.3 | You know, I don't actually disagree with any of that statement. Burke is like very happy. That's true. But look, I know Alexis spent 20 minutes in the kitchen yesterday trying to figure out the microwave. Oh, God. That counts as time spent. I thought it was, yes. So good work. Thank you, Jeff. Oh, it's all like he's chopping vegetables or something. I thought you were going to say she didn't know what a can opener was. That's, that's tomorrow's lesson for her. Not a manual, only electric with her. Jose's been doing more things in the kitchen too lately now that he's in his new apartment. I actually literally cooked rice and I steamed veggies the other day. I cooked chicken. Still doesn't know what a spatula is, but this is what we're doing. No, no, it's a flat fork, right? |
| 0:55.7 | Yeah, see? We're getting there. We're getting there. Anyway, the reason that I bring up all this kitchen stuff is because I recently stumbled onto a list of food hacks that are going to change people's lives forever. Oh my God. I love these. I really think someone in this room is going to be blown away by at least one of these ideas. |
| 0:54.2 | So we'll see. |
| 0:55.5 | Kitchen Hacks. forever. Oh my God. I love these. I really think someone in this room is going to be blown away by at least one of these ideas. So we'll see. Kitchen hack number one. Yes. We've all talked about avocados going bad too quickly. It's a huge problem. They turn brown. The time you go home from the store. Well, I usually put them in the fridge once they're ripe. Scientists just figured out something even better. If you put your avocado in the fridge with an onion touching it, it'll stay even fresher. That makes sense. It's huge. It's like you don't want your fruit on your counter to touch your bananas. Wait, really? Because bananas will rip and stuff super quickly. But I put my avocados next to my bananas. Yeah, that's why they're going back. Oh, no. I didn't know any of this. Just make sure that that onion asked for consent before it touches the avocado. We need to video this so we can go viral on TikTok. A kitchen hack number two. How many times would you say the general public has pasta for dinner every week? A lot. Does macaroni macaroni and cheese count because a lot? Yeah. That's a pasta. Five times? Five times? She's eating it right now? She's like, what is that? Did you know that if you put a baking rack on top of the boiling pot while the pasta's cooking, you can pile veggies on the rack. What? You put a lid over it, and the water from the pasta steams all the vegetables. What? What? Boom. Veggie hack. Yeah. That is cool. So the steam from the pasta is also boiling the veggies. Yeah. Wow, my mind is blown. I know. I saved so much time. Aren't you guys glad that I came across this list? I do. I like it. That's genius. We're going over some kitchen hacks that are going to change your cooking game forever. Number three, this one's really good. Another big family favorite, of course, is tacos every week. Oh, yeah. Usually you're having tacos two, three, five times a week. And instead of using a bunch of different bowls to put all the toppings in, you know, like one bowl for lettuce and one bowl for tomatoes and one for shredded cheese? Yeah, it does have a lot of little. Yeah, I don't do that. What do you do? I just pile it all on the cutting board. It's just a big, sloppy mess on the table. much. Okay. I mean, unless we're having like company over, I'm not making that look pretty. Well, there is actually a way to organize it so it's okay. And you don't have to do as many dishes. Use a muffin tin for each one of the taco toppings. Oh, yeah. That's so smart. Sour cream and one guack and orange. All that's great of there. That way, at the end of everything, you just have one dish to wash. I like that. This is so smart. My girlfriend uses that for kids snacks, like to separate kids snacks instead of a bunch of little things. Well, she's doing it wrong. She needs to use it for tacos and tacos home. I'll tell her. |
| 3:41.0 | Kitchen hack number four. |
| 3:42.6 | When's the last time you guys sat down with a big pint of ice cream? |
| 3:46.7 | Brooke just looked at her watch. |
| 3:49.4 | Is it that recent? |
| 3:50.7 | My husband sent me a picture last night after I went to bed of just the empty gallon of ice cream thing in there. |
| 3:57.4 | And he said, don't judge me. It's the only text in it. I'm like, I didn't even get any. He's not diabetic, I'll tell you that much. He's so skinny. It's so frustrating to me. I was concerned about him emotionally. Usually when people go through something like that it's like they're going |
| 4:14.3 | through something traumatic and they're like what happened he's also crying and like |
| 4:17.8 | you're so skinny yeah it happens once a week if you're a big ice cream eater |
| 4:26.9 | like brook's husband if you want to keep your ice cream cold as you're eating it a hack |
| 4:30.8 | is to use a coozy around the pint so your hands don't warm up and melt the ice cream inside. It also keeps your hands from being really cold. Like for the old Ben and Jerry's Pines. So the Halo Tops. Could I add an ice cream hack that has changed my life? Please do. Store it upside down. Yeah, we already talked about this on the show. Oh my God. Yeah, we did. I did it. I did it. |
| 5:21.4 | I did it. I did it, and it's amazing. But you were just trying to take credit for it. Yeah. I thought that that's how it learned it. We talked about it like a week ago. She's like also avocados and onions. Total hack. I'm going to write that one down. Yeah, Jeff, do it. Thanks for that. Why are we doing so many kitchen hacks? Yeah. Finally, kitchen hack number five. This one's a mind-blower for me. Okay. The problem after you make great cookies, is they don't stay soft long enough. Are you with me? Right. That's interesting. I like crispy. |
| 5:21.9 | Ew. Oh, you like a nice dry cookie. I do. Gross. The burnt crispy. Okay. Well, so I guess this one doesn't apply to you, but if you actually like soft, moist, gooey cookies. I like rare. I do. I'm a rare cookie guy. Then you need to know this hack. It works with muffins and cakes and anything. |
| 5:18.8 | You take your baked goods, |
| 5:20.1 | pop them in an airtight container with I like rare. I do. I'm a rare cookie guy. Then you need to know this hack. It works with muffins and cakes and anything. |
