Kirk, thanks for joining us, man. We appreciate the time. Oh, man, thank you for having me. What's going on? Before we talk about this matchup, I just want to get into your background a little bit.

It had to be awesome for you to be an Oakland kid to hear your name called by your hometown team

when you were drafted in the third round by the Raiders in 2005.

Take us through that night, how cool that was for you to be drafted by the team that I'm sure you grew up

rooting for in Oakland.

Oh, yeah, man.

I've been a lifelong writer fan.

I'd say I'm a unicorn in the sense that, you know, I was a fan first, a player second,

and then now I'm an analyst, so I've kind of covered the team from all three

different angles. So it's been just a fun, magical ride. Like I said, I grew up, a Raiders fan,

born and raised, and went to San Diego State for college, and got the call from North Turner,

who was my coach back in 2005, and, you know, went back home to the Bay Area,

played five years with the Raiders, man, some of the great years of my playing career,

finished up in, went to Jacksonville, finished up in Buffalo for two years, but Chang Gehle is my

head coach, but man, just a fantastic ride with the Raiders and to be able to kind of make

it a full circle moment by joining the radio broadcast of the team.

Something I kind of dreamed about, didn't know what happened one day, but just kept my head

down, just kept working.

And, you know, obviously the opportunity came, and I took it for sure.
