going to get into Kirby vacuu. Now Kirby is yet another

MLM with some pretty questionable ethics as is the case with

MLMs in general. I can't say I've ever done a video on a vacuum

MLM though so this is going to be an interesting one for sure.

But hey let's cut to the chase and get right to the good stuff.

Let's learn about the history of Kirby vacuums. Now Kirby vacuums have been around for quite some time longer than many MLMs we've discussed previously.

James or Jim Kirby was the inventor and he was born in September 1884.

According to one source, growing up,

Jim Kirby watched his mother at her endless round of housekeeping chores.

He thought that women were stuck spending way too much time

on monotonous drudgery and that much of their repetitive work could be replaced by electrical appliances.

With that goal in mind, he began designing and building such devices.

Many people have heard of Kirby vacuum cleaners,

but that was just one company that decided to name one branch

of their operations after Kirby.

Kirby also invented improvements to electronic dishwashers, irons, and washing machines.

Kirby invented the first practical spin cycle for washing machines.

Prior to Kirby's mass-produced laundrier, women had to haul heavy laundry soaking wet clothes out of the wash tub and threw a ringer.

Kirby eventually amassed over 150 patents, most involving laundry or vacuum cleaners.
