Alright, if you got a Bible, go to the book of Daniel, we're in chapter 7 and let me

tell you this. Most of the time preachers will preach the first six chapters and then

quit. And in an hour, you'll know why. This is an impossible text. This text is

going to, at certain points, stretch your imagination in mind and I'm going to

strain with human language to explain supernatural things. By way of

preface, let me just tell you that there are two basic ways to view human history.

One is that the future is open, uncertain, and the possibilities are endless.

That anything could happen. That everything hangs in a precarious balance. If you

believe that, you will live a life of anxiety, you will be stressed and depressed,

especially during an election year. Just thrown it out there. If you think that

the future is ruled and controlled by God, that it is closed, that He is in charge,

that He is good, that He is working all things for His glory and the good of His

people, and that God ultimately has a destiny and plan for history, you will sleep

better. You will turn your phone off. You will not cuss at the nightly news. You

will live differently with less anxiety. My whole prayer and goal today is to

prove to you from the perfect prophetic word of God that God knows rules the

future and as the kid song says, He's got the whole world in His hands. So as we

get into Daniel 7, just to catch you up if you are in fact new, the story of
