This series has taken us to lots of places already, everywhere from Berlin to Minsk, but Europe isn't just cities.

So this week we're taking you to Udabno, a pretty isolated village in the southeast of Georgia.

And it's a pretty unique place, so unique in fact that we thought we'd better bring in our producer, Vojek, who made this story, do come and set the

scene for us. Hi, Vojek. Hi, hello. Tell us a little bit about Udabno. What is this place like?

Yeah, so Udabna, in Georgian, it means desert, and it's not far from the truth. It's a vast grassland

on the border of Azerbaijan and Georgia, And it's a very secluded place.

It takes about two hours to drive from Tbilisi and the nearest town is called Sagarejo

and it's like 40 kilometers away. The story of the place is really interesting because it was

built in the communist times only to make an impression that Soviet people can do anything.

It was the way to prove that communist is such a powerful system that you can have a very

beautiful blossoming village in the middle of the desert. And that's what they did.
