Aloha and welcome to Amen podcast. I'm Lockelaani and I'm here with my husband Alex. Today we're diving into one single verse, Matthew 2711, where Jesus stands before Pilot. What's striking here is how the religious leaders twisted the truth about Jesus to manipulate Pilotate into doing what they wanted.

They lied about who Jesus was to get their desired outcome.

And that brings us to today's question,

what lie or truth is your life telling about Jesus?

See, the religious leaders use their influence to spread a false narrative about Christ. But here's the thing,

our lives are constantly telling a story about Jesus too. Whether through our words, our actions,

our priorities, or our choices, we're either bearing witness to the truth of who he is,

or we're distorting his character to the watching world.

So as we walk through this passage today, I want you to ask yourself, what does my life communicate

about Jesus? Am I presenting him truthfully or am I perhaps even unintentionally misrepresenting the king who stood silent before his accusers.

Let's read Matthew 2711 and get right into it.

Now Jesus stood before the governor and the governor questioned him saying, are you the king

of the Jews? And Jesus said to him, you yourself say it. Amen. If you go to 1st Timothy

chapter 3 verse 4, it says leading his own household well, having

his children in submission with all dignity.

These are words that Paul wrote to Timothy about the qualifications of an overseer.

An overseer is someone who oversees a church or a pastor, an elder of some sort.

And he tells them one of the qualifications,

and there's many qualifications,

but one of them needs to be your household,

your kids need to be in order.
