I'm Jeff Goldsmith, and this is the Q&A. My agenda is simple. Each week I plan to bring you in-depth

insights into the creative process of storytelling. Folks, I'm really glad to have with us today,

screenwriter, Lindsay Joy, and actor, co-writer and producer, Gene Pope, to discuss their

latest film, King of Knives.

You know, it is not exactly a holiday film, but it is a holiday film.

So it's kind of both.

You know, it's not your typical hallmark holiday film.

And that's, I think, what is a good thing about it.

And yes, it takes the dysfunction that could happen in families, meets it head on in a comedic fashion, but, you know, also has some very dark tones as well.

It's kind of unavoidable here.

So you get everything in there, kids.

And look, it was really great to have Lindsay and to have Gene back.

We had him a few years back for his movie Bruce.

And, you know, they're here to talk about what it took to get their film in the can

and all the thought that went into making it and especially collaborating because this is

an independent film.

they workshopped it they they collaborated together and jean as an actor really knew what kind of film

he wanted to make as an actor and he was able to kind of draft that in his character by collaborating
