Summary

This morning, surrounded by the lead, oak and stone of Westminster Hall, King Charles III addressed parliament. Lindsay Hoyle, speaker of the Commons, introduced him, and said that he knew the new King would 'bear those responsibilities which fall to you'. King Charles said that he was resolved to follow his mother's 'selfless duty'.

0:33.0	in his first address to both Houses of Parliament as monarch this morning.

0:40.0	So the new King came to say thank you to both Houses for the humble address
0:46.0	as they had sent expressing grief on the death of his mother for Queen.
0:50.0	He paid tribute to the role that Parliament plays in our democracy.
0:56.0	And it was another example of the peaceful and orderly constitutional succession.
1:02.0	He now goes to Scotland where the Queen's body is resting,
1:07.0	where he will attend a service at St. Charles's Cathedral and see Nicholas Sturgeon,
1:11.0	the First Minister of Scotland.
1:13.0	And I think that we will see then before the Queen's body is brought to London tomorrow
1:17.0	where it will lie in state here.
1:20.0	And Fraser, when it comes to the Queen's body lying in state,
1:23.0	what are we expecting in terms of the numbers coming to Patriotview?
