The reason why this keeps happening to her has something to do with her connection to

the son of the plantations cruel owner.

And while she tries to get a handle on that, she makes both bitter enemies and surprising

allies in the past and present day.

Let's get to it.

Kindred begins in 2016 LA, where young Dana played by Mallory Johnson buys a home which

brings her closer to her estranged aunt Denise played by Aisha Davis.

But then she starts finding herself getting pulled back in time, always to a Maryland plantation,

run by Tom Wylin and his wife Margaret, played by Ryan Quentin and Gail Rankin.

Every time she goes back she becomes more entwined with the fate of their young son Rufus,

played by David Alexander Kaplan.

The action unfolds along parallel tracks, in the modern day Dana's aunt and uncle, a couple

of nosy neighbors and a sweet waiter she hooks up with, begin to worry about her safety and

sanity.
