Jimmy Kimmel had the world's attention last night as he returned to the ABC set

after his one-week suspension.

And whatever you think of him, and he made a point of thanking conservatives, particularly

Ted Cruz and others who don't agree with him on anything, but made a point

of defending his right to be on the air and be critical of the Trump administration.

I thought that was a nice touch. He choked up at times. He was somber. He acknowledged

why people, many people, mad at him.

And then he turned it into a rousing defense of free speech.
