And Living Single is an important iconic unforgettable show for so many people.

That's why I want to talk to Kim Kohl's, we had to talk about her experiences making

living single. Living single means so much to so many people,

such an important show, and you talked about, you referenced,

just feeling really loved and affirmed there.

Talk about the environment of the show that helped make it so powerful

because people were clearly seeing they love each other so it resonates off the screen.

I'm going to pull out the tissues now.

So first I'll say let me put a little context I didn't have to audition for this show.

I got a deal Queen Latifah had a deal they put the two of us together, and asked her what she thought of me.

She was like, I like her, she's funny. They asked me what I thought of her, I like her, she's the queen.

They were like, okay, great. So it's like peanut butter and you know, there's too much peanut butter. Like we became the ultimate Reese's cup. So they put the two of us together and Yvette Lee Bowser was the one that was chosen to create this this experience.

And it was often running from then.

The way the casting was put together, the way that everyone was chosen, you know, I think Kim Fields was the only one in mind for Regine ever, ever, ever.

The way that we were careful about how our black men were portrayed, you know, in the beginning it started going down sort of a

Elinie and squiggie kind of vibe, which is funny, but we didn't need to see our brothers like that.

And so to give this brother, he was a stockbroker.

And this one, although people think that Overton was dumb, he actually wasn't.

He was a handyman and an inventor and he you know had his own business he was an

entrepreneur and so anyway the answer your question there was nothing but

love from the moment we started.
