Hey everyone, Elisa Donovan here, and this is killer thriller.

Okay, today we are diving back into one of the most unbelievable true crime sagas in recent

memory, the Murdoch murders.

This involves a powerful southern legal dynasty, a deadly boat crash, financial crimes, and then Maggie and Paul

Murdoch are shot and killed at the family's hunting estate. I mean, this case exploded

nationally because it wasn't just about murder. It was about privilege, legacy, and the collapse

of a family that seemed untouchable. And after a six-week trial and less than three hours deliberation by the jury,

Alec Murdoch was convicted of murdering his wife and son and was sentenced to two consecutive

life terms without parole, then he also received additional decades in prison for financial

and fraud convictions tied to client

theft and embezzlement. However, in February of this year, just weeks ago, the South

Carolina Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Alec Murdoch's appeal of the murder conviction,

but they have not made a ruling on that appeal as of yet.
