Mark Harper, who is the Transport Secretary, has announced, though, that he's going to change the law so that dangerous sighters face the same punishments as dangerous drivers. The maximum sense is causing death by dangerous driving his life in prison. We had a case just the other day, highlighted, of course, on this show of a woman

who was 81 years of age, knocked over by a speeding cyclist doing timed laps inside Regents Park,

a London Park, of course, on a public road, a public highway doing 29 to 30 miles an hour,

ran into her, she later died of her injuries, but the cyclists could not be

prosecuted because there was no law in place to do so. Let's talk to Howard Cox, founder of

Fair Fuel UK, a man who knows a thing or two about dodgy cyclists. Howard, a very good morning

to you. Welcome. Good morning, Mike. Nice to speak to you. Yeah, good to talk to you again. I mean, you know, it's long overdue this,

isn't it? You know, and I can't imagine anybody thinking that this is in any way, anything,

but the right thing to do. It's not unreasonable. No doubt there will be some Lycra louts who will say,

oh, it's not fair. You know, why they're clamping down on cyclists? It's cars that kill people more. Well, because when somebody in a car kills someone,

they face the penalty for it.

You're absolutely right.

The point is a cyclist is driving a vehicle,

cycling a vehicle.

That's what they're doing,

and they should be subject to the same road user laws

and the highway code all the way up to the courts,

to actually, if they cause injury, damage damage or anything like that and fatality,

they should be subject to this.

And what gets me that we're in an election year here now,

I like Mark Harper, actually.

It's much better than Grant Shaps was, the previous principal.
