Welcome to the 100th episode of the backcountry hunting podcast.

Pretty cool milestone.

For me and for the show, we're not going to do anything extraordinary this time like raffling off a product or anything.

What I want to do instead is talk about a topic that's, well, very important important to me and to many of our listeners and that's how

to get kids started right in hunting. Now this is partly in response to an Instagram post or two that I made

of my kids this fall when my oldest daughter who's 12 and my oldest son who's 10 and hosts our backcountry apprentice segment, both took their first mule

deer in Idaho and I got just a tremendous amount of response to those. In fact, when Audrey shot her deer, I had a good photograph. I post it with just a few brief details on her experience. That post generated more traffic than any other

post I've ever made on Instagram. That tells me something. And shortly after that I started getting questions from listeners on how to get kids started right and hunting.

So here we go.
